Grid-Powered Drive Unit for CIFA
From Diesel to Electric in Just 8 Weeks.
Motics successfully delivered a grid-operated drive unit, replacing a 55 kW Diesel engine on the CIFA concrete sprayer CST 8.20 for a limited budget in a tight time plan. From the order to the first roll-out, only 8 Weeks passed for engineering, integration and testing.
The chosen core components provided by Dieter Christian Korte from BIBUS HYDRAULIK AG now quietly empowers the machine with equal mechanical power relying on high-quality off-the-shelf components like a Danfoss variable frequency drive and a standard asynchronous motor.
Yesterday this electrification project left our workshop heading to a Metro-Tunneling construction site in Munich with highest safety standards, where no battery nor diesel-driven vehicles are allowed.
But, how to drive a heavy grid-only-powered machine on a hauler?
So, unlike our other electrified machinery with its battery energy pack on board, this one is tied to its grid-connected navel cord until it has nested comfortably on the low loader to be transported to the customer.
Thanks to Andrea Nigrelli and Gianluca Gossi from CIFA - Concrete Machinery for the collaboration!
